ABOUT Ms. Ellison19th year in education...Greeting! I am blessed to have the opportunity to teach your scholar. I attended undergrad at Albany State University where I earned a Bachelor's degree in Middle Grades Education. I continued my education at Cambridge College where I earned a Masters in Educational Leadership. I began my career in Fort Worth I.S.D. in Texas, and moved to Georgia where I continue to teach in Dekalb County Schools.
My strength is embedded in Gifted Education. I love designing and creating cross-curriculum, rigorous, student-centered, project-based lessons and activities. I have a high interest in providing instruction that develops thinking strategies to enable scholars to make informed decisions, to understand and apply concepts, to make reasonable judgments and to define, create, and implement critical thinking and problem-solving skills. My job as an educator is an essential part of our society. I equip students for the competition that they will face from every sector of society while preparing them for their daily lives. I teach my scholars to not only look at my lessons as preparing them for a test, but most importantly to look at them as preparation for life. I want my scholars to love learning and most importantly to look at learning as a life-time instrument. I inform them to make sure that their everyday goal (for life) should be to learn something new. ~Jennifer Ellison |
